how does hy 5 approach therapy?

We believe speech therapy should be fun and engaging, as well as meaningful to your child (and you). We aim to make speech therapy as play-based and fun as possible so you will not see lots of drills or practicing of words that your child never uses. We will work with you to determine what goals are top priority for both you and your child. Sessions are customized to make sure your child’s favorite things are a part of them.

Why “HY 5”?

HY is short for Hyattsville, where Mairin lives and where her private practice started. Mairin specializes in working with kids 5 and under and speech therapy with them often involves lots of “high 5s” 😊.
